Ullapool club run absolute riot as they score 19 goals in Stafford Cup quarter final match





LOCHBROOM ran absolute riot as they thrashed Dornoch 19-0 in their Stafford Cup quarter final match yesterday.

Kyle Mackenzie scored seven goals in the demolition with Ben Bruce and Venca Jaros grabbing hat-tricks. Rheo Elliot, Toby Stewart, Kaden Irvine, Seumas Charity, Calvin Butrym and an own goal completed the rout.

Earlier this year Lochbroom announced that they were withdrawing from the North West Sutherland League but would continue to play in cup competitions.

In the other Stafford Cup matches which took place last weekend, Helmsdale United won 6-0 at Lairg Rovers, Lochinver beat Inver 5-3 and Melvich beat Brora Wanderers 3-1.

The Highland Amateur Cup preliminary round took place yesterday with a number of Sutherland teams in action.

Inver are through to the next round after thrashing Thurso Swifts 6-0. Helmsdale United are also through to the next round after winning 2-1 at Embo. Golspie Stafford are out of the competition after losing 4-3 to John O’Groats after extra time.

In the other North Section matches, High Ormlie Hotspur beat Castletown 4-0 and Staxigoe United beat Keiss 4-3.
