Royal Dornoch Golf Club to host Paul Lawrie's Tartan Pro Tour in September
Royal Dornoch Golf Club will be part of a new golf tour in Scotland starting next month organised by former Open champion Paul Lawrie.
The Tartan Pro Tour is a series of six competitions that will take place across Scotland beginning on August 5 in Carnoustie.
Royal Dornoch will host the third event of the series on Monday, September 7 and Tuesday, September 8.
Other courses which will host the competition include the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre in Aberdeen, Pollok, St Andrews and Rowallan Castle.
Lawrie says he is excited at the prospect of professional golf events returning.
“This period has been the strangest any of us have ever faced in our lifetimes and as professional sportspeople we are champing at the bit to get back competing.

"The Tartan Pro Tour has come about partly because Covid has obliterated our normal schedules.
All of the pros I’ve had contact with throughout these past 12 weeks have no certainty that they’ll get a chance to play again this season at all. I’ve been so impressed by the efforts of the European Tour to get the UK Swing of events to the stage its at but for so many Pros the remainder of the year looks unclear.
"The quality of these courses is incredible, and it will be a real pleasure for us to get competitive golf at each of them."
Tartan Pro Tour events will be played over 36 holes across two days open to both male and female professionals with maximum field sizes of 72 and are being supported by a number of sponsors.
