Golspie Sutherland take on Inverness Athletic for a place in North Caledonian Cup final





GOLSPIE Sutherland will look to book their place in the final of the North Caledonian Cup when they are set to take on Inverness Athletic tomorrow afternoon.

The semi final takes place at King George V Park with kick-off at 2pm as Golspie will be looking to give themselves a chance of ending the season with some silverware.

Golspie Sutherland have completed their North Caledonian League campaign and are currently in fourth place, with Orkney who have two games remaining this season, five points behind IN fifth.

Golspie reached the semi finals of the Football Times Cup this season but were knocked out on penalties by Alness United.

Inverness Athletic made history this season when they won their first trophy since joining the North Caledonian League, winning the Football Times Cup final beating Alness United 3-1 in the final.

The winners will face either Invergordon or Halkirk United who meet in the other semi final at Recreation Grounds tomorrow afternoon.

Invergordon were crowned league champions after they successfully retained their title last weekend with a 6-0 win against Thurso.

The club are not eligible for a Highland League play-off due to not holding and SFA Entry Licence, but the Ross-shire club have announced plans to obtain one in the future.

One match takes place in the North Caledonian League tomorrow as Bunillidh Thistle will look to give themselves the chance of not finishing bottom of the table this season when they travel to Thurso.

Bunillidh are three points behind Thurso but have three matches remaining this season, while Thurso play their last game of the season tomorrow afternoon.

Elsewhere in the North Caledonian League last week, St Duthus won 2-0 at Inverness Athletic and Fort William beat Clachnacuddin A 2-1.
