Brora Rangers put daylight between themselves and Brechin City after big night of results in Highland League
Brora Rangers have moved four points clear at the top of the Highland League as Brechin City failed to win on Wednesday night.
Brora Rangers thrashed Strathspey Thistle 7-0 while Brechin City were held to a shock 1-1 draw against Keith at Glebe Park.
As a result, Brora Rangers are now on 58 points after 24 matches with Brechin City on 54 points after 23 matches.
The Cattachs were too good for bottom of the table Strathspey Thistle and opened the scoring after 17 minutes.
Shane Sutherland found the net when he connected with a cross from Tom Kelly in the box.
Craig Mackenzie doubled Brora’s advantage in the 26th minute when he fired home a cross from Sutherland into the net.

Sutherland nodded home a cross from Connor Bunce to make it 3-0 on 29 minutes and Mackenzie got his second of the night two minutes before half time to make it 4-0 at the break.
Max Ewan made it 5-0 at the start of the second half firing home a cross from Bunce who then got on the scoresheet himself in the 71st minute.
Sutherland then completed his hat-trick with 15 minutes left when he chipped the goalkeeper to make it 7-0.
Brora Rangers return to action on Saturday when they face Deveronvale at Dudgeon Park.
