MANAGER Steven Mackay says it is vital Brora Rangers ramp up the pressure on Highland League leaders Brechin City as they search for another victory as they take on Turriff United tomorrow.

The Cattachs are seven points behind Brechin City but do have two matches in hand on the league leaders.

They head to The Haughs on Saturday to face a Turriff team who are struggling this season and are languishing in 14th place.

Brora have been in good form and last weekend thrashed Rothes 7-0 at Mackessack Park.

Mackay says they will be looking for another three points at Turriff, knowing they can’t rest if they want to keep up the chase on Brechin City.

He said: “It is another away game for us, we are working our way through them.

“We knew that November was going to be tough for us with the travel, but the boys are stepping up to the challenge and we look to do the same against Turriff.

“We need to get the run going and keep the pressure on and the only way we can do that is to win the game.

“So we are full of confidence and we are playing really well.

“The most pleasing aspect is we are scoring all over the park. We are not reliant on one or two players. Everyone is getting on the act whether through assists or goals.

“We are happy with where we are at this point of time, but we take nothing for granted. We have a busy few weeks with the Scottish Cup and the important league games, so we look to go to Turriff and get the job done.”

Elsewhere in the Highland League tomorrow, Brechin City will have home advantage against Keith, who are fresh off the back of a good victory over defending champions Buckie Thistle last time out.

Banks O’Dee return to league action for the first time since November 2 when they host Formartine United.

Formartine will be looking to maintain their momentum, having defeated Clach 1-0 last time out.

Inverurie Locos are also well in the mix for what appears to be a race for third place. They will take on Deveronvale this weekend, knowing that a defeat for the Banff outfit could see them slip multiple places down the table.

Huntly face what is an increasingly tricky challenge weekend away at Strathspey Thistle.

Clachnacuddin are at home to Lossiemouth with Nairn County welcoming Buckie Thistle to Station Park.

Fraserburgh are due to host Wick Academy at Bellslea and Rothes are set to welcome Forres to Mackessack Park.
