Brora Rangers have confirmed they have signed defender Michael Finnis on a two-year-deal.

The centre back has arrived at Dudgeon Park following playing at Rothes in the Highland League last season.

Finnis scored eight goals last season and was part of both Ross County and Inverness Caledonian Thistle Youth set ups before moving to Clachnacuddin in 2009.

Finnis said the reason he joined Brora Rangers is he wanted to be challenging for trophies.

He said: “We want to be up there challenging for leagues and cups so we’ll try win our games and see where it takes us from there

“I am an old fashioned centre half, winning my tackles and my headers and I can play a bit too.”

Brora Rangers have also confirmed that midfielder Gregor Macdonald has left the Cattachs by mutual consent and signed for Rothes.

Macdonald won the league with Brora Rangers in his first season at the club in 2020 and also won the North of Scotland Cup and Highland League Cup.

Rothes manager Richard Hastings was delighted to capture his signature.

He said: “I am absolutely thrilled that Gregor has chosen to join Rothes.

He is a very talented footballer who I have worked with closely before and someone who I have admired from afar ever since.

Gregor’s signing is a significant one in showing the direction the club is aiming to go and he will bring a buzz and excitement to both the field of play and the changing room.”
