Woman who poured tin of lager over companion at Invergordon is fined £245
An altercation between two women at an Invergordon address ended with one pouring a tin of lager over the other.
The incident involving Danielle Duncan took place at Mains Avenue, Invergordon on October 27 last year.
Thirty-two-year-old Duncan admitted an assault charge at Tain Sheriff Court on Monday.
The charge states that she attacked the other woman by throwing the contents of a can of alcohol over her and struggled with her.
Procurator fiscal depute Naomi Duffy-Welsh said Duncan was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
She said: “The altercation took place at 3.45pm and police attended at 4.10pm.
“The accused was subsequently arrested and taken to Burnett Road Police Station in Inverness.”
Defence agent Rory Gowans said his client, who is unemployed and on Universal Credit, had since moved from Invergordon to Findowrie Street in Dundee.
He said: “She made a conscious decision to move to Dundee to get away from her demons and to make a fresh start. She has begun weekly counselling sessions. Alcohol seems to have been the cause of this incident.”
The lawyer said Duncan had no recollection of the assault.
“It is virtually a blank slate,” he said. “She recalls some issues with the complainer but not what they were.”
Sheriff Gary Aitken fined Duncan £225 along with a £20 victim surcharge.
