Woman named in fatal accident

Police Scotland can confirm that the woman who died in a three vehicle collision on the A9 south of Dunbeath on Saturday at around 2pm, has been named as Elizabeth Williams, 72, from Thurso.

She was a passenger in a Jaguar S type car.

In addition to the fatality, there were minor injuries to a number of others.

The road was closed and diversions were via the A897 Helmsdale to Melvich road.

Police would ask anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them on 101.
