Burns Celebration

A relaxed afternoon of poetry and traditional Scottish music in celebration of Robert Burns at Clynelish Distillery tomorrow 1.30pm-3.30pm. Enjoy a complimentary dram at the bar. Free event.

Games Night

Kildonan Village Hall is holding its first Games Night tomorrow from 5.30pm. Bring a game and meet new people. All ages welcome. £3 per person donation, under 12s free. Bring your own refreshments.

Burns Dinner and Ceilidh

Join the Embo Trust for their Burns dinner and ceilidh tomorrow 6pm. A wonderful night of Robbie Burns poetry, verse and song. Afterwards members of Rogart Ceilidh Band will play some great ceilidh music. Licensed bar. Tickets £45 (places restricted to 60). Burns Supper

Walk

Sutherland Walkers nine-mile walk from Dornoch to Embo and Coul Links on Sunday. Circular, good paths and beach walk. Optional shorter walk from Dornoch to Embo and return. Both walks start from Dornoch Square at 10am. Walk leader is Jon Jenkins 01862 810382.

Gardening for Butterflies

Golspie in Bloom in collaboration with Butterfly Conservation Scotland presents Gardening for Butterflies, a presentation by Tracy Munro, Species on the Edge project officer, at Golspie Community Centre on Tuesday. Tea and coffee at 6.30pm and presentation at 7pm. Free entry.

Tarbet Discovery Centre hosts an online and in person talk on Thursday 7pm-8pm. Dr Victoria Thompson Whitworh will share her work on links between the Picts and the Book of Kells - one of Christianity’s most important medieval documents.
