SATURDAY, MAY 18

Car Boot Sale

Car boot sale at Tesco, Tain, on Saturday from 7am-1pm. No need to book a car space, turn up on the day. Seller fee £5. All money raised by Tesco goes back into the local community.

Classic Car Tour

East Sutherland Rotary Club Classic Car Tour on Saturday. The tour starts from Dornoch town square at 9.30am and returns to the town in time for afternoon tea. A fundraiser for various good causes.

Garden Fete

Plant and garden fete at Culrain and District Hall on Saturday 10am-4pm. Plant and garden items for sale and home produce/craft stalls. Also other activities and refreshments.

Dance

Dance through the decades with live music from The Impact at Platform 1864, Tain, on Saturday 3pm-7pm.

Film Night

Films Gu Leor presents family movie The Secret Life of Pets 2 at Tongue Village Hall on Saturday 3.30pm for a 4pm start. £5/£4/£2.50. Snacks and drinks available.

Concert

The Kyle of Sutherland Hub presents a concert with the Inverness Military Wives Choir at Ardgay Hall on Saturday 7.30pm. Raffle. Tickets £10, refreshments included, available from the hub or in the hall on the night.

Quiz Night

Monthly quiz night at Dornoch Social Hub on Saturday 7.30pm. A fun evening with cash prizes and spot prizes. Maximum team size is four. Refreshments included. Entry £5 with profits to good causes.

Comedy

Barrel of Laughs - a stand-up comedy evening at Clynelish Distillery, Brora, on Saturday 8pm. Enjoy some whisky as you watch hilarious Highland comedians perform. For tickets, visit: http://spr.ly/6185b2gVz

Garden Buy, Swap and Sell

Buy, swap and sell garden stuff at Ardgay Hall on Sunday 2pm-4pm. Kids seed planting. Free entry. Donations to Ardgay Hall Funds.

MONDAY, MAY 20

Workshop

Countryside ranger Bumblebee ID workshop at Gearchoille Community Wood on Monday 1pm. Participants will go for a walk in the woods to find as many different species as possible and discuss the diffent features that help identify them. Book via Eventbrite.

Community Markets

Lairg Community Market at Lairg Community Centre on Monday 1.30pm-4pm. An eclectic mix of locally produced foodstuffs, locally grown plants and unique and handcrafted items.

Donoch Community Market on Dornoch Green on Wednesday 9.30am-1pm.

Menopause Chat

Menopause chat at Assynt Leisure Centre on Monday 7pm. Open to all.

TUESDAY, MAY 21

Walk

Join the countryside ranger for a walk at Achmelvich on Tuesday 11am-3pm. Meet at Achmelvich Beach car park for a 6km coastal walk to the old mill at Altanabradhan. Suitable for families. Bring a packed lunch. Book via Eventbrite.

Quiz Night

Quiz night in aid of Lairg Gala Week at Lairg Community Centre’s Kinvonie Suite, on Tuesday 7.30pm. Teams of four; £2 per person. Raffle and refreshments.

SWI

Golspie SWI AGM and social night at Fountain Road Hall, Golspie on Tuesday 7.30pm. New members welcome.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 22

Ballet

East Sutherland Live Arts and Entertainment screen the Winter’s Tale at Brora Community Centre on Wednesday 7.15pm. The Winter’s Tale is an award-winning modern ballet classic adapted from Shakespeare’s profound story of love and loss.

THURSDAY, May 23

Live Music

Sutherland session music event at the Doll Hall on Thursday 7.30pm- 9.30pm. Live music from Scottish trad trio Charlie McKerron (fiddle), Sandy Brechin (piano accordion) and Brian Ó hEadhra (guitar & vocals). Book via Eventbrite.
