Writer, Gaelic broadcaster and environmental consultant Ruaridh Maclean is giving a lecture on cultural and environmental sites in the Scottish Highlands at Bettyhill Library 2pm-3pm followed by a workshop on the placenames of Strathnaver and surrounding area 3.30pm-4pm. ST ANDREWS CELEBRATION
A celebration of Scottishness at Meikle Ferry Station 7.30pm. Enjoy an evening of traditional food and music while helping the Rotary Club of Tain and Easter Ross raise funds for the ongoing support of local groups and charities. Piper Gillian Sutherland will welcome guests from 6.30pm. Harpist and singer Jennifer Port will provide the musical entertainment from 7pm. Tickets £20. COMMUNITY CINEMA
Timespan community cinema 11am-1pm. Two documentaries that explore the state of the fishing industry in the 1980s will be screened. Discussion afterwards from 2pm-3pm.
COFFEE MORNING
Coffee morning and craft fayre at Clyne Church, Brora from 10am. Guess the weight of the cake, how many sweets in jar, baking stall and raffle. Entry £4.

FIREFEST
The Stoer Bistro and Bar, Bettyhill, in partnership with ARL Agri are once again holding a Firefest at the war memorial car park in Bettyhill from 3pm. Switching on of the village's Christmas tree lights, Christmas carols, entertainment by local band Echo, stalls and tastings, bar and cocktails.

Brora village Christmas shopping evening 6pm-9pm. Free raffle; mulled wine and mince pies.
