WEATHER WARNING: Met Office wind alert for Highlands
HIGH winds could cause travel disruption overnight in parts of the Highlands, according to weather experts.
That's according to the Met Office which has this afternoon issued a Yellow weather alert.
It covers the Highlands and runs from 9pm this evening until 10am tomorrow morning.
It states that high winds could cause travel disruption and bring difficult driving conditions, especially on exposed bridges, causeways and higher routes.

The Yellow colour-coded warning means:
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
- Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
- It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves.
The wind warning follows earlier Met Office alerts this week for icy conditions.
