Local people are being invited to take part in coastal heritage survey walks along the south side of the Dornoch Firth from Friday to Sunday, March 7-9.

The walks will be led by archaeologists from the SCAPE Trust. The trust, a registered charity established in 2001 and supported by the University of St Andrews, works with the public on the archaeology and history of the Scottish coast.

Annual walks are held when archaeologists use the SCAPE app to update existing records of coastal heritage sites and also to record new ones.

A trust spokesperson said: “We organise walks to coincide with low tides. We are out for about five hours and walk around 6-8kms.

“We welcome volunteers to join us on the walks and would love to hear from you about the coastal history and archaeology of the Dornoch Firth and recent coastal change. No experience necessary.”

To join the walks, email Paul at: pjm32@st-andrew.ac.uk or call 01334 461605.
