Ullapool paramedic speaks out about ‘life-saving’ importance of the Sandpiper Trust as two local businesses link to fundraise for the charity
Two Ullapool businesses have joined forces to hold a fundraising day tomorrow - Saturday, September 7 - in aid of the lifesaving charity the Sandpiper Trust.
The Seafood Shack and Rhidorroch Distillery on West Argyle Street will donate all profits from the day to the Trust, which works to provide doctors, nurses and paramedics in rural Scotland with the essential equipment they need to save lives.
The cowboy-themed fundraising day will feature a large raffle with generous prizes, face painting, games and live music. Cocktails and fresh seafood will be available.
Local paramedic Donna Couper Macgregor spoke about the life-saving importance of the Trust ahead of the fundraising event.

“The Sandpiper Trust supports Basics Scotland (a charity that provides training for rural medics) by providing all the necessary equipment I need in order to provide this service. Our GP and out-of-hours colleagues also benefit from the equipment they provide.
“I have been a responder for many years, and the Sandpiper Trust has helped and saved many lives in remote and rural communities across Scotland. I’m very grateful to them and to everyone that supports their amazing work."
