Lochinver lifeboat was launched yesterday morning to assist the crab fishing vessel Sparkling Line after she fouled her prop on fishing gear – and was at sea for more than 12 hours.
The vessel was disabled approximately 23 nautical miles North East of Cape Wrath.
The lifeboat was launched at around 5.30am with six crew on board.
Both vessels arrived at Kinlochbervie harbour entrance at 4pm then, following a short but difficult tow through the narrow and shallow harbour entrance, Sparkling Line was secured alongside Kinlochbervie harbour at 4.30pm.
The lifeboat then returned to Lochinver, was alongside her berth at 6:10pm and closed down refuelled and ready for service at 6.25pm.
