Here is the nudes: calendar gesture raises thousands for Cairngorm rescue team
Cairngorm Reindeer Centre’s naked calendar team have handed over a cool £4,591.50 to the local mountain rescue team.
Sales of their brilliant 2023 calendar were so good that the money kept coming in for the rescuers, who rely on public donations to ensure their life-saving work can continue.
In all, 17 herders at the Glenmore-based attraction posed in the buff with the reindeer and strategically placed antlers – and other assorted items – hiding their modesty.
The calendar shot by Joe Mann also served to celebrate the 70th anniversary since the reindeer herd was introduced to the Cairngorms.
Half of the money from the calendar sales has gone to the CMRT, who were bowled over by the gesture.
The mountain rescue team leader Iain Cornfoot told the Strathy: "We are very humbled by the donation of over £4500 from the team at the The Cairngorm Reindeer Herd.
"On average, it costs £80-100k to run the mountain rescue team each year and this donation will help us continue our lifesaving work."
One of the girls behind the donation – and some carefully placed antlers – was “Fiona”, who told the Strathy this week: "Celebrating 70 years of reindeer in Scotland with our naked charity calendar was certainly a challenge for all of us herders involved, but we are delighted with the outcome!
"It has been extremely popular and made lots of people smile!
"CMRT are a fantastic charity and with both them and us working in the Cairngorm Mountains it was the obvious one to choose so we’re very happy to make this donation!"
