'The atmosphere was lovely': Stallholders' praise for renovated Rogart Mart at first ever craft market
Stallholders at the first ever market held in the newly refurbished Rogart Mart last Saturday have spoken enthusiastically about the venue.
The sellers, who offered a wide range of products and goods from jams and vegetables to silver jewellery and other crafts, found the new events space both functional and convivial.
One of those present was Janet Dell, Helmsdale, who used to run the Garrison shop at the port, but closed it down to concentrate on her craft work and craft sales.
She said: "It's been really good and the atmosphere is lovely."
A sympathetic restoration of the dilapidated old mart building has seen the retention of its main features including the ring and tiered seating.
King Charles III, then Prince Charles officially opened the mart at a ceremony in August.
The conversion was driven forward by Rogart Development Trust.
The trust posted on its social media page: "What an absolutely amazing day. Thank you all so much for supporting us."
Anyone who attended the mart, either as a stallholder or a customer, is invited to give the trust feedback. Click here to access the online feedback form.
