Tesco closes coronavirus Bags of Help scheme to certain areas, but Sutherland groups can still apply
Supermarket giant Tesco has currently closed its Bags of Help COVID-19 fund to some areas following an "overwhelming response".
Tain, Inverness and Elgin are listed among other towns in Scotland from which applications are not currently being accepted.
Tesco said: "Although we understand that the need is great at this time, we have limited resources and cannot fund all applications."
However, groups in Sutherland can still apply for a single payment award of £500 from the short-term fund set up in response to the current crisis.
A spokesman said: The programme is set up to support organisational need in this time of crisis rather than fund specific projects.
