CalMac sailings in and out of Ullapool have been hit by cancellations following a “technical” issue - causing Easter getaway misery for passengers.

The ferry operator issued the warning on Thursday morning, and confirmed that the 10.30am sailing from Ullapool to Stornoway and 2pm journey heading the opposite direction were both axed.

And further sailings could yet be disrupted, with the 5.30pm sailing out of Ullapool being described as “liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice” at the time of writing.

The night-time freight-only sailings were also at risk of disruption.

CalMac said it planned to give a further update sometime after 1.30pm.
