Two former members of Golspie Boys Brigade reunited recently, 40 years on.

Andrew Calderwood, formerly of Fraser Street, and Murray Douglas, formerly of Grant Crescent, found themselves mustering in an unlikely location - Tehran.

Both now work for Lloyd’s Register and met up for the first time in 41 years at a conference in Iran, a country re-emerging from lengthy European and American sanctions.

Murray is Global Head of Development Solutions based in Aberdeen and Andrew is Vice President Middle East, based in Dubai.

There was much reminiscing on the life and times of East Sutherland, but not a dram in sight. At least not on this occasion!

Andrew’s mother Isabelle lives in Dornoch where the family moved in 1975 and Murray’s mother, Frances, still lives in Golspie.
