Supplier of souvenir whisky for Inverness Castle Experience appointed
Visitors to Inverness Castle which is set to open as a major tourist attraction next year will be able to buy a special souvenir whisky as a memento.
A contract has been awarded to a national company to supply an own label whisky to the ambitious multi-million pound Inverness Castle Experience.
There are also plans to enable local distilleries and suppliers to showcase Highland spirits produced across the region in the castle’s new bars and restaurants.
According to the Public Contracts Scotland website, the contract has been awarded to Edinburgh-based Own Label Company Scotland which was the only company to tender.
It also states the value of the contract is £26,310.

Work to transform Inverness Castle from its past uses as a prison and court into a visitor attraction is currently ongoing.
The project will benefit from £30 million investment to support its re-development from the Scottish and UK Governments, Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and a range of other partners.
A spokesperson from the project said: "On behalf of Highland Council, High Life Highland (HLH) has appointed a supplier of an own label whisky for the Inverness Castle Experience.
"This open tender was advertised on Public Contracts Scotland and the successful company will work with HLH to develop a range of Own Label souvenir products for sale in the castle shop when it opens in 2025.
"The successful company is a nationally recognised supplier of souvenir whisky bottles, having worked with National Trust for Scotland at Culloden, as well as Historic Environment Scotland, Royal Yacht Britannia and many other visitor attractions across Scotland.
"The Inverness Castle team will also work with local distilleries and suppliers when the castle opens in 2025 to celebrate and showcase the fantastic range of Highland spirits that are distilled and produced across the region within the castle’s new bars and restaurants."
The Inverness Castle Experience project is part of the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal, which is a joint initiative supported by up to £315 million investment from the UK and Scottish governments, Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and University of the Highlands and Islands, aimed at stimulating sustainable regional economic growth.
