World’s Strongest Brothers Luke and Tom Stoltman made first ever NFL draft announcement from Scotland as pair confirm New York Jets pick
The Stoltman brothers have made another piece of history – this time in American football.
Tom, the three-time world’s strongest man, alongside older brother Luke, two-time Europe’s strongest man, became the first pair to announce an NFL draft pick from Scotland.
The National Football League is the pinnacle of American football, with teams getting the opportunity to draft rookies to their roster every year.
There are several rounds of picks over three days, with the 2025 draft concluding last night.
In one of the later rounds, though, the New York Jets confirmed a draft pick via a video featuring the Stoltman brothers at Aldourie Castle on the bank of Loch Ness, confirming that their fifth round and 162nd overall pick in the 2025 draft was Miami linebacker Francisco Mauigoa.
It was the first time ever that a draft pick had been announced from Scotland, but it was not the first connection between the Stoltmans and the sport.
They have previously featured in a YouTube video for NFL UK, discussing their fandom of the sport.
Tom will be aiming to retain his World’s Strongest Man crown when this year’s edition of the competition takes place from Thursday, May 15.
