Special guests visit Sutherland school to mark World Book Day





Gledfield Primary School linked with its cluster school Edderton primary for a jam-packed day of activities to celebrate World Book Day 2023 yesterday.

Events started at Bonar Bridge Library where librarian Linda Morrice read a story and talked about the history of the library and the books it holds.

Back at school, there were games, competitions and reading sessions and, in the afternoon, three special visitors popped in.

Constituency MP Jamie Stone told pupils about his job and read out The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Kyle Chronicle editor Silvia Muras spoke about how newspapers and magazines were produced.

And local author Ruth Adams gave a insight into the process or writing and having a book published. Ruth had an extra special surprise for pupils – she had written a children's book especially for the pupils. The book, What Shall I Be, was published that day.
