Singer Grace Morton to perform at Doll Holl, Brora, on Saturday
It is being billed as a night of “original songs, stories and warmth”.
The Doll Hall Community Association is delighted to be hosting Glasgow-based singer-songwriter Grace Morton at the hall tomorrow, Saturday, April 19 from 7pm-10.30pm.
The Doll Hall event is part of a three date tour to launch Grace’s debut EP, ‘Ghost’.
Brought up in Trotternish on the north-west coast of Skye, Grace spent many childhood holidays with her grandparents Dennis and Isobel Pryde in Brora.
Her music is rooted in her island childhood, and she is known for her folk-influenced sound and for writing about themes of nature, identity and personal growth.
She released her debut single ‘City to the Sea’ in early 2021. The track is an ode to home and the feelings that moving from remoteness to busy city life brings.
Since then she has played sets at festivals such as Under Canvas at Eden Court and Celtic Connections and has also opened for some of her favourite musicians.
She collaborated with fellow singer Lewis McLaughlin on her most recent release, ‘Dawn. Lewis will be opening for Grace at the Doll Hall and there will also be local support.
The performance begins at 7pm, and the Doll Hall will be fully seated. Tickets on the door or purchase online at www.gracemorton.co.uk/live
