Children in the village of Doll enjoyed a surprise visit from Santa and his elves at the weekend.

The Doll Community Association organised the visit after its annual children's party at the Doll Hall was cancelled this year due to Covid restrictions.

Around 15 children were visited by a socially distanced Santa, who arrived on the back of a tractor driven by local crofter Scott Sutherland.

A spokesman for the association said: "As Santa's reindeer were still waiting for flying restrictions to be lifted, the elves resorted to their bright red Christmas tractor to get the job done.

"Not only did Santa make sure that the children of the Doll received their socially distanced presents this year, the visit also provided a big lift to the spirits of everyone in the community during these unprecedented times."
