Rosamunde Pilcher to talk at Dornoch Book Fair
Best-selling novelist Rosamunde Pilcher will speak at the forthcoming Dornoch Book Fair.
Assisted by her son, Robin, also a writer, she will talk about her life as an author and her novels at the Dornoch Social Club on the evening of Friday 27th June. Mrs Pilcher will speak from 7.30 pm.
Mrs Pilcher has had a long personal association with Dornoch, and her novel “Winter Solstice” was set in a town based on Dornoch. The 2003 TV film version of the novel was filmed in and around Dornoch and Golspie, as was its sequel.
Her books are especially popular in Germany where the national TV station ZDF has produced more than 100 of her stories.
This talk will be a ticketed event, with a limited number of seats. Tickets cost £12 and will be available to purchase from the Dornoch Bookshop in High Street, Dornoch and online at www.dornochbookfair.com from Saturday 3rd May.
The Dornoch Book Fair is now in its fourth year and this year’s event will be held over three days from the morning of Friday 27th to the afternoon of Sunday 29th June.
A huge selection of second-hand books of all genres will be for sale by DADCA (the Dornoch and District Community Association) and by independent book dealers.
As well as the sale of books, there will be author talks and workshops, and some live entertainment. Teas and refreshments will be available. Entry is free and the Fair is open from 10 am to 4 pm each day.
