Rail operator confirms return of half-price ticket offer for students
Students in Scotland are set to benefit from a fares boost thanks to the return of ScotRail’s half-price ticket offer tomorrow.
The offer will see the train operator cut its prices through Spring and Easter with a 50 per cent discount on train tickets across Scotland’s railway.
Claire Dickie, ScotRail head of retail, said: “We’re delighted to pass on savings to students in Scotland once again, with the return of our half-price offer this spring.
“With the longer days returning, it’s the perfect time to explore Scotland or take a well-earned break from studies and head into town with friends.
“Our half-price ticket offer will help students make the most of spring and Easter.”
College and university students will also be able to take advantage of half-price off-peak tickets on ScotRail services from Monday, March 27, 2023 until Sunday, April 30, 2023.
Available on all off-peak tickets, except Super Off-Peak Day Return tickets, students will save whatever their plans this spring.
Customers who buy off-peak return tickets will have up to one month to use the return portion of their ticket – up to Monday, May 29, 2023 for tickets purchased on April 30.
To take advantage of the savings, all students need to do is turn up at a staffed ticket office with their valid student photo ID, purchase their half-price ticket, and jump on board.
Tickets can also be purchased on-board trains if students are travelling from a station where no ticket office is available.
