Duke of Rothesay, Prince Charles, has sent a letter of support to a Highland great-granny who is generating cash for charity by climbing the equivalent of Suilven on her stairs at home.
Margaret Payne (90) received the message after hitting the headlines for her fundraising effort which has already attracted more than £416,000 of donations.
She is aiming to climb the stairs at her Sutherland home 282 times – the equivalent height of 2398ft high mountain, Suilven – to raise money for the NHS, Highland Hospice and RNLI.
The letter from the Duke of Rothesay stated: "There could hardly be a better example of this indomitable spirit than your own magnificent efforts in raising money for vital charities. It is people like yourself who show that, for every hardship there has been a hero – or, of course, a heroine..... So, in great admiration of your incredible efforts, my wife and I send you our warmest congratulations on your splendid achievement!"
