PICTURES: Wild West themed Bettyhill Gala had 'warm family feel' and was 'full of happiness'
Bettyhill and district residents enjoyed four days of fun, frivolity and festivity at their annual gala.
The popular festival ran from Thursday to Sunday, August 3-6 and was jampacked with activities for all age groups.
This year's theme was the Wild West and it was certainly a rollicking ride.
Gala Queen Kaigha van Voornveld, Skelpick, had a busy few days, attending events and presenting prizes.
Elizabeth Best, one of the festival organisers, said it had been a "warm and happy" time.
"We enjoyed glorious weather throughout the gala days and it was supported by the local community as well as visitors to the area," she said.
"There was such a warm, family feel to the whole gala – lots of happiness."
Ms Best added: "The evening dance in the village hall was the best attended in years and the band Cover2Cover were a huge success."
An infamous sheep race from yesteryear featured again on the programme on Sunday, the final day of the festival, at Achneishkich, and proved hugely entertaining.
