PETS FACTOR: TheraPets are the furry superheroes of the Highlands!
This week, we have a few heroic Highland pups – therapy dogs!
One of the most common therapy dog services is TheraPets, which is a voluntary service involving registered dogs and their owners providing pet therapy. The service brings companionship and joy to places such as: hospitals, schools, hospices and care homes! Because therapy dogs help humans release endorphins – the happy hormone – TheraPets help reduce anxiety and relieve symptoms of depression.
In other words, these pets are the furry superheroes of the Highlands!
Here is very own Therapy dog in training, Rhum!
Meet Cooper the trained TheraPet and his little brother Ralph!
Not a TheraPet, but here is the gorgeous Bosnian rescue pup Conan!
It looks like Fergus is getting his training in, he might not be training to be a TheraPet – but to be the next Messi instead!
I don't think Mika is a TheraPet either, but she would definitely melt all my anxieties away! She is just like a walking pom–pom!
Our SSPCA pet of the week is Kevin! Kevin the Akita cross husky is a handsome gentleman who is looking for a loving new home.
Kevin is a very laid back dude who seems to take everything in his stride. He is very friendly with people and loves to greet everyone with affection and a waggy tail.
Despite being a slightly older boy he still has plenty of energy and loves his time outside in the run and going for his walks – he also walks beautifully on his lead. He would love to find a home with a garden where he can spend time chilling out. Ideally the garden will need to be fully enclosed and secure.
