It features four singers and a pianist and includes a selection of arias and duets.

Curated for the first time by Fiona MacSherry, Scottish Opera’s head of music, the opera snapshots are vignettes set in the country’s many and varied railway stations.

Singer Robert Forrest and Scottish Opera’s emerging artists Ross Cumming, Chloe Harris and Kira Kaplan bring to life classic operatic extracts by Beethoven, Bizet, Handel, Donizetti, Tchaikovsky, and others under the musical direction of Joseph Beesley.

Director Rebecca Meltzer said: “Over the course of the performance, we invite you to join us on a journey across Scotland, encountering the lives, loves and losses of a range of characters.”

Opera Highlights is supported by the Friends of Scottish Opera.

The Durness event will be held in the village hall with the curtain rising at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased at: www.scottishopera.org.uk/shows/opera-highlights-2025.
