Sutherland school pupils retell classic stories in Christmas show for family and friends
North West Sutherland Schools (NWSS) continued the countdown to Christmas with a series of festive shows in December.
Pupils from the schools and education learning centres took to the stage in a range of performances, retelling classic Christmas stories to family members and the local community.
Kate Lee, deputy head teacher said: "The first of three shows started on Monday 19th in Kinlochbervie when the children performed a super musical called ‘Fireside Nativity’ to a packed village hall.
"The audience enjoyed a cosy re–telling of the traditional nativity story as it unfolded around the comfort of the campfire.
"Tuesday afternoon then saw Durness children perform the delightful show ‘Penguin Pete’ – about a penguin with a problem – he just didn't want any fish for Christmas!
"None of his animal friends could help, but luckily Jack Frost could. They travelled north from their home in Antarctica to find Santa Claus who gave Pete a lovely gift – of non slip webbed shoes."
On Tuesday evening, Scourie children captivated their audience with a delightful re–telling of the wonderful ‘A Christmas Carol’.
Ms Lee added: "Well done to all the children and staff for producing and performing such fantastic shows. It was great to see all the children back on stage after a two year break due to Covid."
