New Dornoch Post Office opens in two weeks
The new Post Office in Dornoch - at Mitchells Chemist, High Street – will open at 1pm on Tuesday 27 January.
The service will be provided at a combination counter in the store, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the till.
The present Dornoch Post Office at Deans Lane, will close at 12:30pm on the same day.
Post Office services will be available during the store’s opening hours, 8am to 5.30pm on Mondays and 9am to 5:30pm Tuesdays to Saturday.
Local residents and small business customers will be able to access a wide range of Post Office and mail services during the extended opening hours, including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.
Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office Card Account, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.
The opening hours which will increase by an extra 10 hours a week, will make the branch more convenient, as people will have more choice of when they can visit.
Suzanne Richardson, Regional Manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.”

The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme that is enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy through to the end of the decade.”
The Post Office already runs a similar service at Mitchells Chemist in Golspie.
