Northern Lights delight across Highlands: 'Never seen them so clearly and so bright"
A DAZZLING display of the Northern Lights thrilled sky-watchers across the wider Highlands last night – Sunday, February 26.
Many have taken to social media to share images they have taken whilst out and about
The Highland Astronomy group posted: "Never seen Aurora this strong before from suburban Inverness. Must be incredible views from dark locations. Please post your pictures and clear skies."
Another watcher in Tain posted: "Never seen them so clearly and as bright as tonight!"
John Gregory, who lives in Tain and shares pictures on his Scotland from the Air Facebook page, said: "The photos were taken with my Mavic Mini Pro 3 drone at the Tain Links around 9pm.
"It has been a few years since we last saw them but never as bright as this. It was both my boys' Andrew and Archie's first time and they were excited to see them, albeit keen to get back in the warmth of the car!"
He had the drone handy after being out in the lovely weather earlier today taking photos for Scotland from the air.
He said: "It's been a cracking day for footage!"
