Man charged after disturbance as firearms officers deployed

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with outstanding warrants after firearms officers were deployed in Grangemouth.

Police were called to the Portal Road area of the town in the Falkirk Council area just after noon on Friday, following reports of a disturbance which resulted in nearby residents being evacuated.

A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged, and is due to appear in court on Monday.

There were no reported injuries and those evacuated were able to return to their homes at 11.45pm.
