A 64-year-old man has been arrested and charged after police discovered drugs, weapons and cash during a raid in Perth.

Officers executed a warrant at a property in Primrose Crescent at around 5pm on Monday.

Police said they discovered cocaine, herbal cannabis and cannabis resin worth an estimated £15,200 alongside £47,200 in cash.

They also seized two “prohibited weapons” but did not say what they were.

Pc Arran Sheach said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and we are determined to bring those responsible for the distribution of illegal substances to justice.

“Information from the public is vital and we would encourage anyone with information about drug-related activity to get in touch with us via 101 or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal, Police Scotland said.
