Man, 58, killed in collision with car in Glasgow named by police

A 58-year-old man who died in hospital after being struck by a car in Glasgow has been named by police.

The incident, which involved a silver Volkswagen T-Cross car, happened on Carntyne Road, at its junction with Murrayfield Street, at about 8.40pm on Saturday March 22.

Police Scotland said Brian Roan, who was from the local area, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died on Wednesday April 16.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers continue to appeal for information.

Road Policing Sergeant Chris McColm said: “My thoughts are with Brian’s family and friends as they try to come to terms with what has happened. We’ll continue to offer them support.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far and ask anyone who may be able to assist with our investigation, and has not already spoken to police, to contact us.

“I’m particularly keen to speak to drivers with dashcam footage of the area around the time.”
