Local residents have been advised to keep their doors and windows shut as firefighters tackle a blaze in a derelict building in Glasgow.

Four fire engines and two aerial appliances went to the scene in Wardie Road in the Easterhouse area of the city when the alarm was raised on Sunday afternoon.

Police said road closures are in place at Wardie Road at the junction of Baldinnie Road and Shandwick Street at Bogbain Road.

There are no reports of any injuries.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “Due to levels of smoke in the area, we ask the public to avoid the area, and close windows and doors as a precaution.”
