Explosive ordnance crews in Edinburgh after suspicious item reported

Explosive ordnance crews are in the Scottish capital after a potentially suspicious item was reported to police.

The item was reported at around 4.55pm on Wednesday in Loganlea Gardens in the Craigmillar district of Edinburgh.

Police Scotland says Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) have attended and a cordon has been put in place in the area.

Residents in Loganlea Gardens, Loganlea Place and Loganlea Drive have been asked to keep their windows shut and remain inside.

Members of the public have been asked to avoid the area.
