Motorcyclist dies after accident near Strathcarron

A motorcyclist has died following an accident on a north Highland road.

The A890 was closed after the one-vehicle collision which occurred around 1.05pm yesterday near Attadale by Strathcarron, around 1.5 miles from the Strathcarron Hotel.

A police spokesperson said: "Police can confirm that a male person, the rider of the motorcycle, has sadly died as a result of the collision.

"Should anyone who has not already been spoken to by the police have any information regarding the collision they are asked to contact the police on 101."

The spokesperson added that enquiries were ongoing and further information would be released when available.

The remote road was later re-opened.
