Michael Jackson’s brother, Tito Jackson, who performed at summer’s MacMoray Festival, dies aged 70

Tito Jackson - Michael’s brother and a star at this summer’s MacMoray Festival - has died at the age of 70.

Just one month ago, Tito was on stage in Elgin as part of The Jacksons with brothers Jackie and Marlon, wowing crowds with a headline Saturday night set.

Speaking after that set, Tito told The Northern Scot that Elgin’s crowd was “great” and he loved having fans come out and sing his songs. The group had hoped to return to the town.

An original member of The Jackson 5, Tito played guitar and provided backing vocals in the band.

His death was confirmed by his sons, who said they are “shocked, saddened and heartbroken” by their father’s passing.

One of Tito’s sons, Tarryl, performed with his father at MacMoray Festival on August 10.
