New members recruited at men’s shed launch

The Men’s Shed movement began in Australia in the 1980s as a way of improving the health and wellbeing of older men, reducing loneliness, and tackling social isolation. Some men’s sheds have expanded their remit to include everyone, regardless of age or gender.

The first Men’s Shed in Scotland opened in Aberdeenshire in 2013 and he SMSA was launched in November 2015 with the aim of supporting new and existing groups to set up and run a Men’s Shed in their local town or community.

A Men’s Shed was launched at Dornoch in October, 2019. The shed is located next to Oversteps Care Home.

The meeting begins at 7pm.
