Maritime collection inspires Timespan poetry workshops on ‘People and the Sea’
A series of four free poetry writing workshops on the theme ‘Of People and the Sea’ and a performance workshop are being held at Timespan Museum and Arts Centre in Helmsdale.
Well-known poet and researcher Cáit O’Neill McCullagh is leading the workshops, the first of which took place this week.
The next workshops will be held on Wednesday, March 26, and the following Wednesdays, April 2 and 9, from 10am-1pm.
No previous experience is needed to take part.

A spokesperson for Timespan said participants would take inspiration from Timespan’s maritime collections.
The end of the poetry project will be marked by a ceilidh where participants will be invited to share their work, which will also be included in a special publication.
