Major changes to ScotRail services south from Inverness as Storm Jocelyn clear-up continues
Damage caused by Storm Jocelyn will disrupt all of today's train services between Inverness and the Central Belt.
The Highland Mainline is closed between Perth and Pitlochry with ScotRail citing severe weather as the cause.
Rail replacement buses will serve the route between Inverness and Perth all day, with southbound trains running from Perth to Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Northbound trains from Glasgow and Edinburgh will terminate at Perth.
But ScotRail says it has laid on extra trains from Inverness to Pitlochry and stations in between, leaving the Highland capital at 06:38, 08:43, 10:50, 12:48, 14:50 and 17:26.
Additional trains will also run in the opposite direction from Pitlochry to Inverness at 08:47, 10:32, 13:41, 15:21, 16:50 and 19:34.
Tickets dated January 21, 22, 23 and 24 will be accepted today for those who suffered delayed journeys during the extreme weather.
This morning’s 05:36 service from Inverness to Glasgow was cancelled.
The train operator reported that its North Highland rail services between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh and Inverness and Wick were mostly running as scheduled.
But passengers are advised to check their journeys as this morning’s 06:18 Wick to Inverness service only operated from Lairg because of the effects of the extreme weather.
