Durness Primary School’s Parent Council have been awarded a £2400 grant from the Big Lottery’s Communities and Families’ fund.

The £2410 award will go to the school’s Big Diggers club.

The group will develop an after-school gardening club aimed at nursery class children aged three to five, to encourage growing their own fruit and vegetables.

They will purchase new equipment with the money and will involve parents and members of the wider community by providing take home starter packs.
