Lochinver lunch offer from Gavin and Stacey star
Lunch with Gavin and Stacey star Ruth Jones is being offered in a competition to help promote the North Coast 500 (NC500).
Ruth, who also stars in Stella, and her TV producer husband David Peet own Peet's Restaurant in Lochinver.
But in a surprise goodwill gesture, Ruth has offered herself as a prize in a competition for members of the NC500, which has been acclaimed as one of the best drives in the world.
Ruth, 49 - who plays the larger-than-life Nessa in Gavin and Stacey - and David opened the restaurant two years ago and spend their time between Wales and Lochinver.
And Mr Peet revealed: "Ruth has even done some waiting on tables - she really enjoys it. She does get recognised and people ask for selfies, but that's fine.
"We love it here and the people are lovely too. We have been coming here for many years.
"Even though we are not on the NC500 main route we have seen business increase. The restaurant is going great.
"It was Ruth's idea to offer the prize of lunch with her. She's very down to earth and really enjoys her time here."
Mr Peet praised restaurant manager Angie Kinnaird for running the operation, which includes prawns straight from the sea caught by her husband Robbie aboard his boat Glencoul.
And NC500 organisers are delighted at Ruth's surprise prize, which will be offered to members through a draw.
"Peet's Restaurant stocks only the finest local produce and is one of the NC500 institutions - if you're a fan of good, local, sustainable seafood or game, then you've got to stop there.
"Your meal will be made all the more enjoyable as award-winning actress and writer Ruth Jones drops by to have a wee chat! An unmissable opportunity for fans of Gavin and Stacey or Sky One's Stella!"
Ruth is soon to shoot a special Christmas edition of the comedy drama Stella, which is written by her and husband.
