Local angler catches first fish of the season on River Brora

The first fish of the 2025 season on the River Brora was caught earlier today.

Local angler Tony Walentowicz from Badnellan, Brora, caught the 8lb fish in the Rallan pool on the lower river.

He used a home-made fly to attract the salmon.

The River Brora opened on Saturday, February 1.
