‘If single malt whisky made a noise, it would sound like this’ - Folk duo celebrate launch of new album with concert at Rosehall
Music lovers across Sutherland are in for a treat this Saturday as Rosehall hosts “Birl-Esque” - a night with “dazzling duo” Eilidh Shaw and Ross Martin, celebrating the launch of their new album.
The pair, both stalwarts of the traditional music scene, will bring their trademark blend of heart, humour and high-energy music to the intimate Rosehall Village Hall on April 26.
Eilidh Shaw, a renowned fiddler with The Poozies, and Martin, a guitarist with Daimh, boast an impressive 74 years of combined gigging experience with over 100 album appearances between them.
Long-time fans may remember the pair from their early-2000s stint in the cult folk band Harem Scarem.
Today, their performances seamlessly blur the lines between the traditional and the contemporary with their own sassy and irreverent style.
In their own words, “If single malt whisky made a noise, it would sound like this.”
Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start.
Tickets are £12, and it’s a BYOB event. Raffle prize donations are welcomed.
