Hut circles will be focus of Clyne Heritage Society's 2023 community dig
Clyne Heritage Society has released information on its planned community archaeological excavation for 2023.
The organisation is this year focusing on roundhouses/hut circles at West Clyne, Brora.
Twelve days, from Monday May 22 to Friday June 2, have been laid aside for the dig.

Group chairman Dr Nick Lindsay said: "We will be excavating the site of three roundhouses – otherwise known as hut circles – dating possibly from as far back as the Bronze age, up to 4,500 years ago.
"We hope to be able to find dating evidence during the dig to prove this."
And a call has gone out for volunteers to help with the excavation.
"It is an amazing opportunity to get involved in a dig, with all the new skills you'll learn and new friends you'll make," said Dr Lindsay.
"It is so much fun and, if you've never dug before, you'll be addicted.
"Come and join in for a half-day or the whole 12 days. No experience necessary."
The society last year held a hugely successful excavation of a summer dwelling at Greeanan, Strath Brora, thought to have been occupied by infamous Clyne parish minister Rev Walter Ross in the late 18th century.
