Historic Sutherland hotel in finals of Scottish Hotel Awards





Dornoch Castle Hotel is a finalist in the 8th annual Prestige Scottish Hotel Awards 2025.

The hotel, part of the Thompson Independent Traders Ltd (TITL) group of companies, is one of 12 finalists in the Best Historic/Heritage Hotel category.

Its operators said they were “thrilled to be in the final”.

They said: “If you know the rich history and heritage behind our beloved hotel, you’ll understand just how special this recognition is.”

The historic hotel dates back to the late 15th century and was originally a bishop’s palace. Over the centuries it has evolved from a palace to a courthouse,prison, and schoolhouse, before becoming a hotel.

The awards ceremony takes place in Glasgow on Thursday, May 15 .
